Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 38-40!

In math we finished up our measurement activities using non standard units of measure.

Check out our final Star Students of the year!

We also worked on gather data about the people in our class.  Ask your child what these graphs were about.

These smartie pants have bright futures are amazing citizens!

We popped our final balloon in our countdown on our last day together.

We celebrated our learning and journey with our grade two awards.  Each student received an award voted on by their peers.  I am so proud of this group of learners!
It was time to prepare to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of summer!

The fun begins!

Thank you for an amazing year together!  I am blessed to have journeyed with all of you.  Have a wonderful summer

This will be my final blog.  The traffic on the blog throughout the year was not enough to justify the work that the blog required.  FreshGrade was accessed more and therefore I have elected to use that next year rather than doing both.

As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at lesleyh@eics.ab.ca or you can call the school after August 13 at 780 998 7777.

Week 37!

Our St. JP II reading buddies came for their final visit this week.

We are grateful for our time with our reading buddies.

We had an amazing day of learning about Fort Saskatchewan in the past at the Fort Saskatchewan Museum.

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who came to spend the day with us.

Students have started bringing home extra supplies and will continue to do so until the end of the year.  By sending supplies home slowly over the next several weeks means that they don't have a huge load to bring home on the last day of school.

All home reading books from the classroom must be returned as soon as possible.  My library is looking pretty sparse so I'm hoping to have books returned this week so that other students can enjoy the books next year.

This week all library books are due back to school.  Library notices for unreturned books will go home later this week or early next week.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me at 780 998 7777 or lesleyh@eics.ab.ca.
