Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 19!
Presley was our Star Student this week!
Congratulations to these hard working Lexia kids!
Mr.  Walker came to talk to us about the Jubilee of Mercy.

Quest Theatre came to perform for us this week.

We explored our creative side with some watercolour painting.  The results were beautiful!  We are many artists in our class.  Students will be bringing their creations home to share.

Playing card games are great for building basic facts knowledge and growing number sense.

If you are looking for a keyboarding website to practice typing skills http://www.kidztype.com is a good one.  It is British so the students have to get used to the accent but it is levelled so students can work at their pace from level 1 to 4.

Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday.  Please take some time to celebrate your child's growth and discuss some next steps.

There is no school next Thursday or Friday.

 Week 18!
Jacob was our star student this week!

These students earned Lexia certificates for all their hard work!
Ask your child what this blue stick and these red and white cards are for.
We seem to be battling lots of nasty bugs right now.
Please remind your child that the best way to fight the spread of these bugs is by washing our hands.

January 29th and 30th  will be our bottle drive days.  Please consider donating.
Reading each night is important but accuracy is only one part of reading.
Comprehension of what is read is vitally important for developing good reading skills.  After your child has read to you each night ask them some questions starting with these words.  We call this strategy "checking for understanding".

Week 17!
Danica was our star student this week!

Samuel has been working very hard on his Lexia.
We researched where magnets are used.

Here our our t-shirts with our original designs.  Can you spot the differences and similarities?

We showed off our t-shirts to Mayor Katchur and we had lots of questions for her.
