Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 12!
We enjoyed an amazing book fair.  Thanks to Mrs.  Buban and all her parent volunteers for all the hard work making our book fair a success.  Also, thanks to everyone who made purchases at the book fair. Your purchases result in money coming back to the school to support literacy.
Thank you to everyone who came out to discuss their child's progress in grade two.  Many good conversations were had and goals were set for the coming months as we move towards report cards in January.

In math we worked on numbers to 100.

 Students created 100 charts.

Clearly, they were very proud of their hard work!

We attended a wonderful Remembrance Day liturgy by 2M.

These students celebrated their Reconciliation a few weeks ago.  Congratulations and God bless!

I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable fall break.  We will all see each other again on Monday, November 21st.

October Star Students

Week 11!

We kicked the week off with some exciting Halloween celebrations!
Miss Adams and I got into the Halloween spirit too!
Thank you to Matthew who brought in some fun photo props for some silly Halloween photographs.

Later in the week we read a fun Halloween story.
Then we made our own Boo!  glasses.  We were all pretty tired after a busy night of trick or treating!
This week in math explored our numbers to 100.

On Friday the students explored liquids.  They learned about the states of matter, layering liquids, what happens when liquids evaporate, what absorption is and what condensation is.

They learned how crystals are formed.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help make the morning a successful learning experience for the students.

Just a reminder that we are a nut aware school.  We have a severe nut allergy in our classroom and in several classrooms in our hallway.  All food items sent to school should be nut safe and students should not share food from their lunches.  Any treats sent to share with the class must be nut safe for the safety of all our students.
Please sign up for a conference.  This is an opportunity for us to set a goal for the coming months.  Students are asked to attend with their parents.  If you are having problems signing up please contact the office.

If you have any questions, comments  or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at 780 998 7777 or lesleyh@eics.ab.ca.
