Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 35!
In math we continuing to work on double digit adding and subtracting.

We had an amazing talent show this week.

I am so proud of these talented kids!
We had a wonderful presentation learning about indigenous people.
We learned about the medicine wheel.
We even got to be carried around like Inuit children are by their mother's.

We saw lots of artifacts from Inuit culture.
This is a summer jacket and it is turned the other way around, inside out, for the winter.
 We ate bannock.
 We ate caribou stew.
We felt lots of different furs from a variety of animals.
 We tried throat singing.
We learned about the tradition of storytelling that indigenous people have.
We heard this beautiful flute being played.

Week 34!
Here is our latest book tournament winner.

Check our new book tournament selection in the fourth round of our book tournament.
We celebrated Aiden as our star student this week.

We started on a health project that required us to trace our bodies.
We needed a lot of space for this job.  We will continue to work on this project next week.

Each day we do our attendance in Pig Latin.  Ask your child to show you how to speak Pig Latin.  ave-hay un-fay!
In math we have been using base tens to add and subtract numbers up to 100 with and without regrouping.  This is a difficult concept for some students.  Please support your child when they come home with math they have completed at school.

I hope everyone enjoys a safe and sunny long weekend!

Week 33!

We started our week off with a beautiful Rosary Walk to honour the month of Mary.
Mrs.  Lukie led us through the Rosary.  It was a beautiful experience.
Zach was our star student this week!

Our JPII reading buddies came to share their love of reading.

We explored where we could find bugs in the school yard.

It is such a blessing to experience when the students take over the class and teach their peers.  Check out the amazement on the faces of the students as a classmate shows them a card trick using their math skills.  This is what authentic engagement looks like.
