Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 32!
In math we continued to work on our measurement skills.  I think we have now measured just about everything using everything imaginable!

In religion this week we read a beautiful story by Max Lucado called "If Only I Had A Green Nose".  This story encouraged us to love ourselves as God loves us and made us.
The students presented their science insulation projects this week.

On Wednesday we went to the symphony at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton to see and hear the Magnificent Musical Portraits.
Somehow we found time to put the finishing touches on our Mother's Day gift.
On Friday we went to learn about our community in the past at "The Peoples of the North Saskatchewan" organised by the Fort Saskatchewan Historical Society.  There were many activities throughout the day to participate in.  Some students started by learning how to milk a cow.
Then they made butter.
We enjoyed bannock fried on an open fire.
We made candles.
We learned to print with a quill and ink.
We did some weaving.
We learned that bison hides were used as bed covers.
We watched drum dancing.
 There was wood cutting.

We also visited the blacksmith, an old school house, the hospital, a pioneer house, a church, then played pioneer games, built a tipi, learned about the North West Mounted Police, rode on a Red River cart,  did some laundry on a washboard and enjoyed some ice cream.  Whew!!!  At the end of our busy day we waited outside the Warden's House for the bus to pick us up.

A huge thank you to all or volunteers of came out to help us.  Without you donating your valuable time, we could not do this activity!
