Week 22!
Two more smarty pants earned their banana split!
We celebrated a wonderful Valentine's Day. Thank you to the families who sent in sweet treats for the class to share.
We read about a lovely Valentine's Day story about Kitten and Splat.
We have been enjoying our D.E.A.R time. For those who don't know what D.E.A.R time is, it stands for Drop Everything And Read. It fits in nicely with building our independent reading stamina with our Daily Five Read to Self choice. Check out how engaged the class is during this time.
we each pick spots that help us grow our reading brain.
We played with some numbers before we got into challenging ourselves with some tricky adding and subtracting questions. We put these numbers in order from least to greatest. We also identified odd and even numbers.
We are now working on adding and subtracting bigger numbers. Here a student is using coins to help him make a big number then add 10 to it.
The grade 4M students came to share their love of literacy but telling us about the author they have been studying, Chris Van Allsburg. Each group presented a different book by this author. Some grade two students picked some of the books they learned about from our school library. It is exciting to watch as students share their love of books they enjoy.
We celebrated 100 days of hard work in grade two.
Check out these golden oldies!
We worked through lots of 100 Day jobs. We counted out 100 pennies.
We built towers of 100 pennies.
We did 100 piece puzzles.
We made 100 charts.
We made 100 Day hats with 10 groups of 10 on them.
