Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 8!

This week Reece was our star student.
Reece is an excellent farmer who giggles in her sleep!
In math Miss Sebastianelli continued to teach us about making large numbers to 100 many different ways.  We've also started to add and subtract these larger numbers.

We also worked on making equal and unequal numbers.

In science we observed the change in the colour of the flowers we experimented with last week.

We also started our new science unit called Boats and Buoyancy.  We tested a variety of items to see if they float or sink.

We celebrated the hard work of this group of smarty pants as they received their certificates and prizes for completing a level on Lexia.
In religion this week, Miss Sebastianelli taught us about the sacrament of Baptism.

Please keep collecting paper rolls for our Advent activity.  We have several already but need a lot more.
We are looking for scrabble tiles that could be used for our word work.  If you have some scrabble tiles that you are willing to part with, we would be grateful in grade 2H.

Don't forget to bring your pumpkin on Thursday, October 30th for Pumpkin Day!

On Friday, we will celebrate Halloween with a variety of Halloween activities in the morning that will take place in a rotation through all the grade two classes.  After lunch we will change into our costumes and parade in the gym with the rest of the school.  We will return to the classroom to enjoy a short Halloween movie and treat.  Please feel free to send a nut-safe treat for your child to enjoy during the movie.  Students are also welcome to bring individually wrapped nut-safe treats to share with classmates.
