Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

 Week 6!

This week our Star Student was Dara.
Read In Week 2013 was a great success!  We kicked off our read In Week with a Monday morning school wide buddy read.
We read in the boot room!
We read in the hallway!
We read everywhere!

Each day we had a Mystery Reader.
Mrs. Reardon was our Monday Mystery Reader.
Mrs.  Morgan was our Tuesday Mystery Reader.
Mrs. DeChamplain was our Wednesday Mystery Reader.
Mrs.  Morin was our Thursday Mystery Reader.

We celebrated earning our first classroom reward for awesome grade two behaviour choices with a PJ Day!
We created totem families with our grade four friends.
First, all the students had to identify which animal they were, based on the animal's characteristics.
Then the students found a picture of their animal.
All the grade 2H and 4M students put their animals together on one totem to create our totem family, named Citlali, which means star.

Sandwiched in between all this reading, totem building and pjs was a bit of math.
We identified all the odd and even numbers on our interactive 100 splat board.
We then transferred all the "Even Steven and Odd Todd" numbers into our math journal.

We managed to squeeze in some social and finished up our mapping lap books.
As the week came to a close we created turkeys and decided what we were thankful for.

And finally, we celebrated a beautiful Thanksgiving mass at Our Lady of the Angels church on Friday morning.
