Eric and Sydney shared our kindness challenge by doing a school announcement at the office. We caught lots of people sharing smiles and kindness!
We finished our groundhog and Groundhog Day research projects and displayed them for our friends to enjoy.
We had a short week together this week as I left right after school on Wednesday to attend a Daily 5, Math Daily 3 and Cafe conference in Red Deer. As you know, we do "Daily" work in our classroom based on my own research and reading. The opportunity to attend the conference was invaluable in confirming what we were doing correctly and what we needed to tweak.
There were over 600 educators at this conference from a variety of places across Canada. I met some lovely teachers from Manitoba.
With so many people attending the conference, and the anticipation of a lot of sitting and listening, I knew I needed to pick my learning spot carefully. I sat right at the front. I need to make sure my brain and body would be able to remain engaged throughout the day. Even grown-ups need to prepare to learn!
I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with "The Two Sisters" Gail Boushey and Joan Moser. I can't wait to get back to school on Tuesday to share what I've learned.
Sadly, I missed celebrating Valentine's Day with the students but I know they had the chance to celebrate together.
I hope you all had a lovely Family Day together!
