Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 24!

Sadly, I missed our  science presentation on Boats and Buoyancy but the students had these amazing paddle boats to show me on  Monday.

More smarty pants earned their banana split this week!

We are proud of this great grade two who raised $1202 to help sick children.

Shrove Tuesday was enjoyed by everyone with this funny circular story and yummy pancakes provided by the Knights of Columbus and our Parent School Council.

Miss Sarah Balla came to teach us about mindfulness this week.
We learned about what our brain does when we are feeling stress or anxiety.
We learned about stopping and breathing to help us move back into the green zone.

On Ash Wednesday we each received ashes to begin our Lenten journey to Easter.

Each student brought home their Lenten prayer to share with you.
We welcomed March this week with a wonderful Canadian author Julie Lawson.  Ask you child to share with you what they heard about a cougar who visited the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC.

Amongst all the other things we did this week, we managed to squeeze in some doubles math.  We each made a Doubles Dude.  We learned that knowing our doubles is important when we add and subtract big numbers.
