Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t give only your care, but give your heart as well –Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Week 6!

Siannah was our Star Student this week.
Siannah has pink books, pink picture frames, pink stuffies and even a pink mini mouse headband!
We reviewed  Dr. Ollie Ostrich and his sound.
We read about going to the doctor.

The students brought their first Home Journal home to share last week.  Please try to write back to your child since the idea of getting a written response is sometimes what motivates them to write.  The students love to sharing what you have to say.

In science we learned how to make paper waterproof.

We went to Our Lady of the Angels church to celebrate Thanksgiving mass as a school community.

October is Fire Safety Month and we had some special visitors who came to talk to us about being safe.
Here are our future fire chiefs.
Sparky got a little silly with us!
Sparky shared some important fire safety tips!
This week was Read In Week.  Mrs.  Andrashewski shared a treasured storybook from her childhood.
She read "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak.
We also celebrated Read In Week by reading with some of our grade 4 friends.

We participated in Turkeyfest which was an amazing way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon!  Thank you to all the students from Our Lady of the Angels School who came to help out.

A huge thank you to Mrs.  Van Der Kley who has graciously volunteered to be our classroom representative at the Parent School Council meetings.

To prepare for Thanksgiving we created Thankful Turkeys.

We also read a book about Thanksgiving.
